Foxhaven to work ahead of Ebor
Foxhaven will complete his preparations for the totesport Ebor with a final gallop tomorrow.
Patrick Chamings’ charge put up a second impressive performance over a mile and a half at Goodwood recently when he finished a staying-on second behind Crosspeace under Martin Dwyer.
That was only his second outing of the present campaign after he defeated subsequent Group Three runner-up Art Eyes in the cantorspreadfair.com Stakes at the Glorious meeting in 2005.
Chamings now expects further progress stepping his four-year-old up in trip to a mile and three quarters for the first time in his career.
“He’s in very good form and hopefully he will go to York,” said the Baughurst handler.
“It was a super run at Goodwood and I’d say it’s highly likely, not definite, but likely, that Martin (Dwyer) will take the ride again.
“It certainly won’t be as fast as it was at Goodwood and that will help tremendously.
“We will have one more really good gallop and that will be it after that.”
