Jeremy Noseda revealed that Soldier’s Tale could make his eagerly-awaited seasonal return in the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock on September 2.

The ligtly-raced Stravinsky colt has not been seen on the racecourse since finishing fourth in the July Cup at Newmarket last season.

A combination of factors has kept him sidelined since then, but the five-year-old is now being fine-tuned for a belated first run of 2006.

“Soldier’s Tale’s campaign has been delayed by minor training setbacks and also the fast ground which has prevailed at this season’s major sprints,” the Shalfleet handler told www.jeremynoseda.com.

“But he is working very well now and we are hopeful of having him in top condition for a tilt at the six-furlong Sprint Cup at Haydock on September 2.

“We are hoping that his end-of-season campaign could be centred around the Sprint Cup.

“Other races for us to consider are the Diadem and the Prix de la Foret.”
