Saturday’s dinner and dance event organised in support of injured jockey JP McNamara has been postponed.
Having been pleased with the support thus far, executives of the JP McNamara Fund have decided to stage the benefit later in the year so as to maximise it’s success.
McNamara suffered serious damage to his back and spinal cord after a fall at Bangor in April and is currently receiving intensive physiotherapy.
Explaining the decision to alter the date of the event, Di Wright said: “We’ve had such a good response in terms of sponsors and guests wanting to support JP that we’ve decided to postpone the fund raising evening – probably until early autumn – to ensure that as many people as possible can attend, and that we maximise the success of the night.
“Thank you to everyone who has already pledged their support and we look forward to a great occasion later in the year.”
