Vague last in Belmont
Vague’s tilt at the Coaching Club Oaks at Belmont yesterday ended in disappointment after she finished last in the hands of Kent Desormeaux.
The Elusive Quality filly, trained by Jeremy Noseda, won the Group Three UAE 1000 Guineas on dirt in February and returned to action in the one-mile Coronation Stakes last month.
Vague stayed on strongly to take seventh behind Nannina at Royal Ascot, which indicated she would have enjoyed yesterday’s 10-furlong trip.
But despite enjoying a trouble-free journey to America, Noseda’s charge failed to land a blow in the $300,000 (€236,500) Grade One contest, which was won by Wonder Lady Anne L.
