Tikram ready to Rasen the roof
Tikram is on course for a tilt at the totesport.com Summer Plate Handicap Chase at Market Rasen on Saturday.
Trainer Gary Moore reported the nine-year-old to be well ahead of a competitive-looking renewal of the race, won last year by Martin Pipe’s Tango Royal.
Tikram finished 12th behind War Of Attrition in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and has also run on the Flat this summer when finishing 11th behind Baddam in the Ascot Stakes at the Royal meeting.
“He’s okay,” said Moore. “He’s fit from running at Royal Ascot so he should have no problems on that front.
“However, looking at the race you have to say there are horses better handicapped than he is.
“The ground at the moment (good to firm) will be fine for him – although if it were to get too firm he wouldn’t run.”
Jamie Moore, who has won on Tikram twice before, will take the ride.
