Tarandot has Cesarewitch aim
Tarandot is to have the totesport Cesarewitch as her end-of-season target following her brave effort in the Northumberland Plate.
The five-year-old mare was fifth to Toldo in the Pitmen’s Derby, sponsored by John Smith’s, in her first attempt at two miles.
“I thought she would have won on Saturday. She ran a blinder and was a little bit unlucky,” said her trainer George Margarson.
“She’s come out of the race in good form, but it’s difficult to find suitable races for her.
“She’s going to go for the Group Three fillies’ race at Goodwood (the Lillie Langtry Stakes) which she ran in quite well in last year then I’ll get my way and aim her at the Cesarewitch.
“That will be her major aim at the end of the season.”
