Lady could bid for Oaks double
Confidential Lady has not been ruled out of trying to complete the French/Irish Oaks double following her victory at Chantilly.
The Sir Mark Prescott-trained filly galloped to Classic glory in the Prix de Diane Hermes over 10 and a half furlongs but has yet to run over a mile and a half.
Should connections decide to opt out of a trip to the Curragh on July 16 for the Darley Irish Oaks, the daughter of Singspiel could stick to a mile and a quarter for the Vodafone Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on August 5.
She could though step up to mile and a half the following month in the Prix Vermeille.
“We haven’t discounted going to Ireland for the Irish Oaks and trying her over a mile and a half,”Chris Richardson, managing director to owner-breeders the Cheveley Park Stud, told At The Races.
“She has had three Group One races, tough races, and we will let her do the talking.
“I suppose if she needed a bit more time there is the Nassau but she is amazingly tough and she could well stay.
“She may go for the Vermeille over that trip later in the year if we decide to keep her to 10 furlongs for now.”
