Shawanda misses Hardwicke date

Godolphin have declared Shawanda as a non-runner in this afternoon’s Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The four-year-old filly, winner of the Irish Oaks and Prix Vermeille last term, was due to make her debut for the Dubai outfit after switching from the care of Alain de Royer-Dupre over the winter.

However, Saeed bin Suroor has informed Weatherbys that Shawanda is lame and she will now bypass the mile-and-a-half event.
