Magnificent seven for Prince heat

David Junior and Electrocutionist head a high-class field of seven runners in Wednesday’s Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Brian Meehan’s Champion Stakes winner advertised his credentials for further top honours this season with a striking performance in the Dubai Duty Free at Nad Al Sheba.

At the same meeting, Godolphin’s Electrocutionist won the Dubai World Cup.

Ed Dunlop’s superstar mare Ouija Board, who finished a gallant second to Shirocco in the Coronation Cup at Epsom, is also in the line-up.

Manduro, owned like Shirocco by Baron Georg von Ullmann and trained by Andre Fabre, has been supplemented for the race, while Corre Caminos, also trained in France, takes his chance.

Aidan O’Brien will rely on Ace, fourth behind Shirocco and Ouija Board at Epsom, with the field completed by Sir Stoute’s Brigadier Gerard Stakes winner Notnowcato.

Coral make David Junior the 13-8 favourite for the mile-and-a-quarter contest, with Electrocutionist next best at 5-2.
