David Evans looks to have a serious Royal Ascot contender in the shape of Slipasearcher following her impressive success in the toteplacepot Median Auction Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Bath.

The daughter of Danetime had shown promise on her debut at Chepstow but was preferred in the betting by Babylon Sister, who had also run well on her introduction at Windsor.

Shane Kelly tracked the early leader Fly Time on Slipasearcher and when a gap appeared at the distance, the combination went through it like a knife through butter to score going away.

Evans said he would aim his 3-1 winner at the Albany Stakes.

“I think she wants six furlongs and the Queen Mary would be too sharp for her,” he explained. “I do like this filly and don’t know how good she is. She has a good temperament and comes from a good family.”

Evans' small team for the Royal fixture will also include Bazroy in the Norfolk and The Kiddykid in the Wokingham.
