Meehan happy with Junior

Brian Meehan reports David Junior to be in sparkling form ahead of the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Last year’s Champion Stakes victor and winner of the Dubai Duty Free at Nad Al Sheba in March delighted the Manton trainer in a crucial gallop.

“He couldn’t be better. He did his last serious piece of work in the week and that went really well,” Meehan told Racing UK.

“We’ll just keep him ticking over now until the race, he’s tip-top. I can’t see that anything wouldn’t be in his favour. He’s pretty versatile anyway.

“Jamie (Spencer) came down and rode him on Thursday and he was very happy with him as well.”
