Godolphin back with a bang

Librettist made a successful seasonal bow as the Godolphin team returned from a self-imposed exile at Nottingham.

The Dubai outfit had not had a runner since May 27 after a torrid start to the season that had seen the ‘boys in blue’ notch just one winner.

However, Librettist (7-2) got the show back on the road as he ran out a convincing winner under Frankie Dettori.

The four-year-old was making his comeback after a 599-day absence and he lacked nothing in fitness as he made virtually all in the one-mile contest.

Kicked on at the three-furlong market, Librettist stayed on strongly to beat Alfie Flits by two lengths with My Paris a further four lengths back in third.
