Veterans lead Henry II line-up
Old stagers Mubtaker and Cover Up top a list of seven horses left in Monday’s wbx.com World Bet Exchange Henry II Stakes at Sandown.
The Marcus Tregoning-trained Mubtaker was hugely disappointing when last of five runners at Chester last time and will be having a first try at the two-mile trip if he gets the go-ahead to line up.
Cover Up, who is trained by Sir Michael Stoute, was a narrow winner of the Sagaro Stakes on his seasonal bow at Lingfield, beating Tungsten Strike by a head in a rousing finish.
That rival is set to reoppose for trainer Amanda Perrett, while the Charles Egerton-trained Vinando will try to improve on his second in the Chester Cup.
Winged d’Argent, a distant last in the Yorkshire Cup, could make a swift reappearance for Mark Johnston, while Walter Swinburn’s Barolo and the David Elsworth-trained Art Eyes could make their seasonal reappearances in the Group Two contest.
