Jack Sullivan has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a tendon injury.

The five-year-old has proved a real money spinner for trainer Gerard Butler in recent seasons, winning at the Dubai Carnival for the last two years.

However, Butler told www.gerardbutler.co.uk: “I am sorry to give you this news about one of our stable stars Jack Sullivan, who has met with a tendon injury to his near fore leg.

“It will require quite a bit of time off but the vets are quite confident that we will get him back in time for next year’s Godolphin Mile.

“It is a blow but we have to deal with it and do the best for the horse and get him back to where he belongs.

“He owes us nothing and is a great servant for the yard. He has been my own personal pride and joy and has been carrying the flag very highly for us on the international scene.

“So fingers crossed, we need to be patient and hopefully time will cure his problem and I really look forward to getting him back in time for the World Cup meeting next year.”
