Bullish bounds to mile double
Bullish Luck landed back-to-back victories in the Champions Mile at Sha Tin as his stablemate Silent Witness faded dramatically in the final furlong.
Bullish Luck had brought Silent Witness’s 17-race unbeaten run to an end 12 months ago and the Tony Cruz-trained seven-year-old was winning for the first time since then.
Brett Prebble brought him wide and late to make his challenge as he went on to win by a length and a half from Danacourt. Joyful Winner was a length away third.
Silent Witness made most of the running but was headed a furlong out and finished unplaced.
Sole British raider Vanderlin, trained by Andrew Balding, ran a tremendous race under Glyn Schofield, passing the post in fifth place just behind Russian Pearl.
