Iktitaf floored hot favourite Straw Bear to cause an upset in the VC Bet Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown.

Ruby Walsh brought Noel Meade’s charge to storm past Straw Bear, ridden by Tony McCoy, between the last two flights.

The 8-1 shot went well clear on the run-in to win by seven lengths. Jazz Messenger, also trained by Meade, was third.
