Bond ties up race at Newmarket
Stan James 2000 Guineas entry Misu Bond has built on the promise of his Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy success by taking the Listed banshahousestables.com European Free Handicap at Newmarket.
Making his seasonal bow in the seven-furlong race, Brian Smart’s colt was covered up on the far rail in the early stages by Tony Culhane before being produced at the two-furlong pole.
The 5-2 favourite soon put daylight between himself and his rivals and kept on strongly to hold the determined challenge of Jeremy (4-1) by a neck, with Advanced (8-1) a further length and three-quarters back in third.
