Air unlikely to take up Classic engagement

Ed Dunlop has all but ruled out recent Lingfield winner Easy Air of the Stan James 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 6.

The Zafonic colt was given a quote for the colts’ Classic after he extended his unbeaten run earlier this month but the Newmarket handler believes his charge may not be ready for such a race.

“We haven’t quite decided what to do with him yet but he may run at the Craven meeting,” said Dunlop.

“He is unlikely to take up any Classic engagements though, as they will come too soon.”
