Hopes rise for Beef or Salmon Grand National run
Senior Irish National Hunt handicapper Noel O’Brien has opened the door to connections of Beef Or Salmon, Hedgehunter and Forget The Past, among others, following his calculation of the weights for the Irish Grand National.
The feature race at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday has attracted 72 entries.
"I’ve dropped Beef Or Salmon another 3lb to 164 to entice his connections to take part along with Hedgehunter who is also 3lb lower.
"Forget The Past will be 2lb lower on 157 than his revised 159 handicap rating when he hopefully lines up in the Irish Grand National," said handicapper Noel O'Brien.
"The handicapper is certainly encouraging me to run in the Irish Grand National so we'll have to sit down and have a good think about it," said Beef or Salmon trainer Michael Hourigan.
