Officials at Ludlow are confident this afternoon’s seven-race card will take place despite calling a second inspection.

Temperatures overnight fell to minus four degrees but the sun is out and clerk of the course Bob Davies does not anticipate any problems.

“It isn’t quite raceable now but the temperature is almost zero and the sun is out so I am pretty confident racing will be okay,” he said.

“We are supposed to get to eight degrees later and there are six hours to the first race so we should be fine.”
