Demon could race at Punchestown
Racing Demon could try to make amends for a disappointing Cheltenham performance at next month’s Punchestown Festival.
The six-year-old was sent off favourite for the Arkle Challenge Trophy but he eventually finished seventh, some 18 lengths behind winner Voy Por Ustedes.
Although trainer Henrietta Knight felt the horse was not 100% that day, she is hoping a step up in trip can see the three-time winner return to form.
“I didn’t think he was quite firing, even though the two miles was on the short side,” said Knight.
“He’s out in the field with Impek and we shall think about Punchestown. There aren’t many opportunities for him for the rest of the season.
“If we do take him there he’ll definitely step up to two and a half miles or even three.”
