Mullins planning Newbury raid

Seamus Mullins expects to be three-handed in the £50,000 (€73,000) John Smith’s/EBF Mares’ Only ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle Final at Newbury on Saturday.

The Salisbury trainer is considering the two-mile-five-furlong event for Miss Doublet, winner of the Exeter qualifier, plus Ballyhoo and Lets Get Busy.

Mullins said: “They are all intended runners and although Miss Doublet will probably be the most fancied of the three on paper, I think Ballyhoo could run well off a light weight.

“Lets Get Busy has been off since December but she is well and would have each-way chances.”

Also among the 24 entries are other qualifying round winners Heltornic, Vertical Bloom, Harringay, Jontys’ Lass, Treaty Flyer and Ben’s Turn.
