Cheltenham honour Gold hero Best Mate

A life-size bronze statue of triple totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Best Mate was unveiled at the course today.

The late champion’s owner Jim Lewis, the horse’s trainer Henrietta Knight, Cheltenham racecourse chairman Lord Vestey and former jockey Philip Blacker, who created the piece, were among those at a special ceremony.
