Montgermont will miss the Vodafone Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday after working poorly this morning.

The recent winner of the Reynoldstown Chase had been installed as one of five 9-1 co-favourites with totesport for the valuable two-and-a-half-mile handicap chase.
