Walsh back this weekend

Ruby Walsh, who has been sidelined since taking a heavy fall at Gowran Park on January 26, is set to return to the saddle this weekend.

Ireland’s champion jockey plans to ride at Newbury’s Vodafone Gold Cup meeting on Saturday before heading to Leopardstown for their Sunday fixture.

“Ruby will be riding out during the week and will be riding at Newbury and at Leopardstown on Sunday,” his sister and agent Jennifer told the Racing Post.

“He is still doing plenty of swimming and getting physiotherapy and is looking forward to getting back into action.”
