Innox has good chance at Aintree - McCoy
Tony McCoy believes Innox will have a good chance in the John Smith’s Grand National following the French raider’s classy success in the Racing Post Chase at Sandown.
Francois Doumen’s 10-year-old finished seventh in the Aintree marathon last year and has been cut into a general 14-1 to improve on that on April 8.
Innox is likely to form part of a powerful Aintree team for JP McManus, who also has ante-post favourite and 2004 runner-up Clan Royal running in his famous green and gold silks.
“I would say he will go there with a good chance but the disappointing thing is he probably isn’t that much better off at the weights with Hedgehunter,” McCoy told At The Races.
“That might make it tougher for him but he ran a good trial and it was a good race for him to win – I was pleased for him.
“He was all out in the end but I am just pleased that I managed to ride a big winner for Mr McManus.
“We all have to get to Aintree in one piece and that is the most important thing. With Clan Royal and whatever Mr McManus has in the race hopefully I will have a nice one to ride and pick the one that might win.”
