Sedgefield call inspection

This afternoon’s seven-race National Hunt card at Sedgefield is subject to the track passing a 8.30am inspection following heavy overnight rain.

After two millimetres on Monday, a further eight millimetres fell overnight and showers are forecast for the rest of the day, with the going at the County Durham track described as heavy.

Sedgefield’s manager Jim Allen said: “We had more rain overnight then we expected. It has cleared up now and the sun is shining through but we won’t know any more until we have walked right around the course.

“Once we have done that and spoken to the forecasters we will have a better picture.”
