Demon set for Exeter
Racing Demon is finally set to get his season back on track in the South-West Racing Club Novices’ Chase at Exeter on Sunday.
Unbeaten in two starts over fences, Henrietta Knight’s charge has been denied a run for one reason or another since early December.
But he finally looks set to enhance his case for the Irish Independent Arkle Trophy under regular pilot Timmy Murphy.
Currently vying for favouritism for the Cheltenham contest with Irish challenger Accordion Etoile, he has to give 4lb to the useful Cornish Sett but there will be some long faces if he is not up to the task.
The six-year-old, runner-up to No Refue in last year’s Royal & SunAlliance Hurdle, was all set to run at Chepstow last Sunday but the weather intervened once more.
