Joint-favourites for Chandler prize

Paul Nicholls’ Albuhera and Mark Pitman’s Dempsey have been installed as 5-1 joint-favourites with the sponsors for the rearranged Victor Chandler Chase at Sandown on Saturday.

The two-mile handicap chase, transferred from Cheltenham’s abandoned meeting last weekend, has attracted 22 entries.

Gary Moore’s Tikram and the Sue Smith-trained Town Crier come next in the betting on 8-1, followed by Bambi De L’Orme and Nicholls’ top novice Hoo La Baloo on 10s.
