Plumpton abandoned

Plumpton have been forced to abandon tomorrow’s six-race card due to a frozen track.

Officials called a 3pm inspection to assess their chances of racing after a sharp frost on Tuesday night.

Clerk of the course Mark Cornford said: “We have had to pull the plug as the frost is still in the ground and hasn’t really moved today.

“We are unraceable at present and the temperatures are soon set to dip again so we have taken the decision to abandon now.

“We only got up to four degrees today and could get down to minus two tonight.”
