Huntingdon meet is '50-50'

This afternoon’s meeting at Huntingdon is subject to a second inspection at 9am.

Clerk of the course Fiona Needham opted to take a look at the track at 7.30am after overnight temperatures dropped to around minus-five degrees.

And although temperatures rose to above freezing by 6am this morning, the course will need to pass another inspection before racing can go ahead as scheduled at 1.10am.

“It has just started to drizzle, which means temperatures are rising a bit,” explained Needham.

“Although we are hopeful, I would have to say it is currently 50-50 we will be racing.”
