Stewards busy at Southwell

Four jockeys fell foul of the officials on a busy afternoon for the stewards at Southwell.

Graham Gibbons was handed a three-day suspension (February 4-6) for using his whip with excessive frequency aboard the successful Only If I Laugh in the Bet Now At betdirect.co.uk Banded Stakes at Southwell.

Tony Culhane received a one-day ban (February 4) for using his whip down the horse’s shoulder when victorious on Azreme in the betdirect.co.uk Banded Stakes, while in the same race Robbie Fitzpatrick was handed a three-day ban (February 4-6) for excessive frequency aboard Lady Suesanne.

Dean McKeown was handed a two-day ban (February 4-5) for excessive frequency aboard To Be Fare when finishing second in the Betdirect Freephone 0800 211 222 Banded Stakes.
