Strong Pipe team for Trophy
Desert Air, a ready winner of last weekend’s Ladbroke Hurdle at Sandown, is among 13 entries from the Martin Pipe stable for the totesport Trophy Hurdle on February 11.
Pipe has won the Newbury feature twice with Copeland (2002) and Make A Stand (1997) and the champion trainer appears keen to capture it for a third time.
Another possible is Bongo Fury, who was runner-up to Essex last season when Pipe sent out a seven-strong team.
It also included Desert Air, who could only finish 15th of 25 starters last February.
