Kalmini bound for Festival

Sheena West is hoping Kalmini can emulate Penzance and land big-race glory at the Cheltenham Festival following the four-year-old’s success at Taunton.

The 4-1 chance looked in trouble when headed by Opera Mundi two out in the Staple Fitzpaine Introductory Novices’ hurdle, but Jamie Goldstein conjured a great response from his mount at the final flight and the combination prevailed by a length, with the promising Tarlac five lengths back.
