Towcester, Musselburgh escape frost
Towcester has escaped the frost and racing there will take place as planned with the first of six races due off at 1.20pm.
Clerk of the course Robert Bellamy said: “We are fine and go ahead – there was no frost overnight.
"Temperatures are plus two and climbing so everything is alright.”
Meanwhile, this afternoon’s seven-race National Hunt card at Musselburgh will take place as planned after the track passed an early-morning inspection.
Officials at the Scottish venue had planned to check on conditions at 6.45am due to the threat of frost and wintry weather.
But clerk of the course Anthea Morshead said: “We didn’t get a frost as we maintained cloud cover all night. Temperatures did not fall below freezing so we are absolutely fine.”
