UK Jockey Club makes new appointment

William Gittus has been appointed managing director of the UK Jockey Club’s property and land management company.

William Gittus has been appointed managing director of the UK Jockey Club’s property and land management company.

He will succeed Peter Amos who is moving on to join Darley Stud Management as group property director after 14 years with Jockey Club Estates.

Gittus is currently a partner in the rural division of property consultants Bidwells.

Chairman of Jockey Club Estates Julian Richmond-Watson said: “We are delighted that William will be joining Jockey Club Estates.

“His experience will be a great asset when he becomes responsible for the management and administration of 4,500 acres of land in and around Newmarket, including over 85 residential and commercial properties.

“He will also oversee our interests in Lambourn, where we have recently acquired 500 acres of property.”

Gittus is expected to take up his new role in March.
