William Hill agrees €2m Galway Races sponsorship deal
The future of the Galway Plate is secure for at least five more years due to a new sponsorship deal with William Hill.
The bookmaker has agreed to sponsor the eight-race card on Plate Day at the Galway Races until 2010.
The deal will see €2m in prize money up for grabs on Plate Day for the next five years.
Sports Minister John O'Donoghue has welcomed the move, saying it will enable Galway Races to grow and attract more racegoers from Ireland and abroad.
