Lingfield will take a look at 7.30am tomorrow to see whether their afternoon jumping card can go ahead.

Although the inspection is precautionary, clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie-Ross is hoping to avoid a particularly wet night.

“It is just a precautionary inspection, purely to do with the rain,” he said.

“We will take a bit of rain but if we get a deluge, we could be in trouble.

“The forecast is for a further six or seven millimetres which we should be able to take fine, but we will still need to take a look.”
