Sedgefield calls inspection

Officials at Sedgefield will hold a precautionary inspection at 8am on Monday to assess prospects for their St Stephen's Day card.

Temperatures are set to drop below freezing on Christmas Day night forcing clerk of the course Gemma Charrington to check conditions.

She said: “We are going to have a precautionary inspection as temperatures are forecast to drop to minus two and only go up to plus four on Monday.

“We will have to see what we get, it will obviously be a close thing but I’m still hopeful.”
