O’Neill will be out of action between January 2-7 and January 9 after committing the offence in the Betdirect Freephone 0800 211 222 Selling Stakes.

He was not the only rider penalised at the Nottinghamshire track as Patrick Mathers was given a three-day ban (January 2-5) after being found guilty of improper riding aboard Aysgarth Flyer in the Press Red To Bet On ITVi “Premier” Claiming Stakes.

Matthew Henry also fell foul of the stewards and was hit with a one-day suspension (January 2) for careless riding aboard winner Pinchbeck in the Clarence Contractors Limited Handicap.
