McCoy in line for Impek ride

Tony McCoy will be asked to ride the Jim Lewis-owned Impek in the Stan James King George VI Chase at Sandown on Boxing Day.

The 10-times champion jockey landed the totesport Peterborough Chase on the nine-year-old last month, and will take the ride in preference to Timmy Murphy.

“We have decided to ask ‘AP’ to ride if he can,” Lewis told At The Races.

“Unless JP (McManus) wants him in Ireland on the same day, then I am hopeful he will be able to.”
