Ruby Walsh could be in action for Paul Nicholls at Sandown on Boxing Day after being given the all-clear to return to action.

The Irish jump jockey dislocated his right shoulder in a fall at Navan over three weeks ago.

“He’s seen the doctor today and has been passed fit to come back riding on Boxing Day,” said Jennifer Walsh, his agent and sister.

“It looks like he’ll be going to Sandown to ride for Paul Nicholls.”

The Ditcheat trainer has left in Cornish Rebel and Royal Auclair at today’s confirmation stage for the feature Stan James King George VI Chase at the Esher track.
