Williams handed hefty fine
Trainer Evan Williams has been fined a total of £7,500 (€11,000) at a Jockey Club inquiry.
The Welsh handler faced the disciplinary panel after owner Paul Cooper claimed Williams had destroyed his horse, Indibar, against his wishes.
Williams was fined £2,500 (€3,700) for a breach of rule 220 (iii) concerning “acting in a manner prejudicial to the integrity, proper conduct or good reputation of horseracing in relation to his communication with the owner”.
He was fined an additional £5,000 (€7,300) for a breach of 220 (viii) for misleading a Jockey Club investigating officer who was following up a complaint from the owner.
