Windsor abandoned due to frost

Windsor have abandoned this afternoon’s meeting due to frost.

Clerk of the course David Mackinnon initially inspected the track at 9.30am before calling a further look at 11am.

That second inspection showed the track, which was due to host the Grade One totesport Long Walk Hurdle, to be unraceable.

“We have abandoned,” said Mackinnon. “The difficulty is we have had a very strong wind with a freezing wind chill which has not allowed the frost to come out. It is very disappointing.”
