Cast set for Hong Kong mile
Trainer Jeremy Noseda has confirmed Majors Cast as an intended runner in the Hong Kong Mile on December 11.
The four-year-old colt is set to complete a busy campaign in Sha Tin after connections received an invite for the lucrative Group One contest.
The son of Victory Note, who started his season with a spring hat-trick at the Dubai International Racing Carnival, was last seen on October 29 at Belmont Park where he finished a good fifth – beaten only by two lengths by Artie Schiller - in the Breeders’ Cup Mile.
Now Newmarket-based Noseda is planning a Far East mission for his globe-trotting charge.
“We will work Majors Cast this weekend and after that, if we are happy with him, he will take his place in Hong Kong where Frankie Dettori will ride him,” he told www.jeremynoseda.com.
“He seems in good order. The plan is for him to leave Newmarket for Hong Kong on December 2.
“We are keeping our fingers crossed for very fast ground in Sha Tin as that suits him ideally.
“We were thrilled with his run in the Breeders Cup’.
“He was severely compromised by the soft ground and then lost his position when Funfair sadly broke down.
“That cost him a good position in the race at that moment.”
