Ludlow abandoned

Monday’s meeting at Ludlow has been abandoned due to a frozen track.

Officials had planned to hold an inspection at 8am but conditions have not improved this afternoon prompting clerk of the course Bob Davies to call off the fixture.

He said: “We were going to inspect but we have been out to have a look at the track and about 80% of it is frozen and temperatures have not gone above two degrees today.

“We are forecast to fall to minus seven overnight so there just seems no point in waiting until the morning as the prospects don’t look good.”
