Windsor abandoned

This afternoon’s meeting at Windsor has been abandoned due to frost.

Freezing overnight conditions meant clerk of the course David Mackinnon was left with no choice other than to call off the fixture after the track failed a final inspection at 11.30am.

“We had an inspection at 7.30am and 10.30am but after that we had a delegation of trainers and jockeys and we all decided racing could not take place,” explained Mackinnon.

“It’s such a great shame because it’s a glorious day and we had a great card.

“However, the interests of safety must always take priority.”
