McEvoy aiming for January return
Kerrin McEvoy has recovered from a nasty fall he took in his native Australia earlier this month and hopes to be back riding by the new year.
Godolphin’s number two jockey sustained a deep wound to his forehead, and further injuries above his eye and in his mouth when parting company with Queen Of The Hill in The Age Classic at Flemington.
“I had a bit of mild concussion as well and the doctors said to be on the safe side I should have six weeks off,” McEvoy told At The Races.
“I might start back doing a bit of riding here in January just to get going again and then get back to Dubai for the Carnival at the end of January.
“It’s amazing how quickly the bug comes back and I’m looking forward to riding again and getting back to Dubai.”
