Exciting novice chaser Celtic Son is on course to reappear in one of two engagements at the Paddy Power meeting at Cheltenham.

The Martin Pipe-trained six-year-old scored in effortless style at Wincanton on Saturday, looking a potential star of the future as he put in some breathtaking leaps.

Owner David Johnson said: “I spoke to Martin this morning and he’s come out of it very well indeed. We’re keen to run him at Cheltenham to give him some experience of the course as it’s totally different to Wincanton.

“At the end of the day we’re hoping he’ll back there at the Festival. He will be entered for races over two and a half and three miles on Friday and Sunday.”

Johnson believes stablemate Over The Creek is at least as good, however, and he added: “He’s done everything very easily and will run somewhere in the next fortnight.

“This is a very exciting time of the season when all our hopes and dreams are high but we have to temper it with the knowledge it’s a long season and so much can happen as things unfold.”
