Redemption was today given a bullish appraisal ahead of the Paddy Power Gold Cup by his trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies.

The gelding, who has frequently threatened to land a big handicap chase only to be let down by his jumping, will be ridden by Carl Llewellyn in the Cheltenham feature on Saturday.
